Featured Director

Savanah French, director of STARBASE MCAS Beaufort, relocated from Camarillo, California in September 1999, and began her employment in Beaufort as a Substitute Teacher, for the Beaufort County School District.

Subsequently, Ms. French began teaching at STARBASE June 1, 2000, as a part-time instructor.  Later she became full-time instructor, and progressed to lead instructor and deputy director.  She became the Director STARBASE MCAS Beaufort October 2016. 

Ms. French’s educational achievements include an A. A. from Oxnard College, Bachelor of Arts, from California Lutheran University, and Masters of Arts, in Elementary Education from Wheelock College, Urban Teacher Program satellite in Beaufort, SC. 

Ms. French is very active in her community church, Tabernacle Baptist Church.  She serves there as director of after school ministry, director of vacation bible school, church clerk, and assistant secretary.

Ms. French is from a large family of 7 sisters and 3 brothers.  She is the proud mother of 3 children: Michelle, Bryant (deceased), and Christopher.  From her offspring, she has the awesome responsibility of grand parenting 4 grandchildren.
