Native American Stem Club Graduates 12 Students

Thursday, April 14th, the Native American STEM Club graduated 12 students.  This was a rigorous program which involved mentors from the community with expertise in many STEM occupations, including aeronautics, military, and environmental science.  STARBASE, a Department of Defense Youth Program, as our sponsor, provided our projects, supplies, technical support, and recruited mentors.  The students did units on weather and rocketry.  The graduation was attended by families, friends, teachers, and administrators of the student participants.  After the graduation ceremony and refreshments, the students treated their guests to a rocket launch in Central Park.  It was a blast! (pun intended) Mr. Lewis and Mrs. Haralson were teacher sponsors of this club.  Thank you Ms. Haralson and Mr. Lewis for your awesome work with our students!!
